Gladiator 2 to focus on Lucius

The sequel to Gladiator will focus on the character of Lucius.

He was seen in the original as a young boy, the nephew of Joaquin Phoenix's character Emperor Commodus.

The film's producer, Walter Parkes, says the new film will be set 11 years after the original.

He said Lucius was the last heir to Marcus Aurelius (Russell Crowe's character in the original).
