Viewers to become Blind Date matchmakers

Blind Date viewers are to become matchmakers for a one-off live special of the show in which they choose the dream partners, it was announced.

Contestants’ fates will be in the hands of who will phone and text the Cilla Black show to pair people up for the January 4 programme.

Executive producer Chris O’Dell said: “It’s something we have wanted to do for a long, long time.”
