Mark Lamar to host US stand-up comedy show

Mark Lamarr is to host a new BBC2 series taking a closer look at stand-up comedy in the US.

Stand Up America, features the likes of Bob Hope, Lenny Bruce, Mort Sahl, Steve Martin, Jerry Seinfeld and Roseanne Barr.

Several performances in the series, which begins on January 12, will be seen for the first time in the UK.

It also includes interviews with Whoopi Goldberg, George Carlin, Lily Tomlin, Sid Caesar, Cheech Marin, Dustin Hoffman and Billy Connolly.
