Emmerdale star won't be spending Christmas on a beach

Contrary to popular belief, many Aussies don't spend Christmas Day lounging on a beach.

"It's often too hot to do that, in the southern part of Oz," says Emmerdale's Emily Symons, who will be spending her Christmas in her native Australia.

"I'll be dining at a restaurant in Sydney with my family instead."

Emily is taking a holiday, after several months of intensive filming as Woolpack landlady Louise Appleton.
