I've decided to Rome a bit, Steve

Coronation Street's Chris Bisson has revealed how he decided to quit the show - while visiting The Pope during the summer.

Chris, who plays bad boy Vik, was sitting in a square in Rome when he made his mind up.

Says Chris: "I was there with Steve Arnold, who plays Ashley, in Corrie, and suddenly said to him: 'I'm leaving.' He thought I meant I was going back to the hotel we were staying in but I meant that I had there and then decided to quit Corrie.

"Maybe I felt inspired by my surroundings, or something, but I knew it was a decision I wasn't going to go back on."
