Whitney's father says he'll drop lawsuit if she repays him

Whitney Houston's 82-year-old father says he will drop a £65m (€64.4m) lawsuit if she pays him money he claims he's owed.

John Houston's entertainment company is claiming it was not paid for work done negotiating a $100m (€990m) dollar contract with Arista Records.

It also alleges it was not paid when its lawyers got drug smuggling charges against Houston dropped after she was found with marijuana at Hawaii Airport.

John Houston told ABC's Celebrity Justice: "I never thought about suing my daughter. I never thought about it that way. I thought about suing the corporation that belongs to Whitney and she happened to be right in the middle of it.

He also addressed his daughter directly, saying: "You get your act together, honey, and you pay me the money that you owe me. If you do that, you haven't got a lawsuit."

The two-part interview with on Celebrity Justice was broadcast on Wednesday and Thursday, while a separate prime-time interview with his daughter was aired on Wednesday night on ABC TV.

In her ABC interview, the Houston acknowledged having abused drugs in the past, including alcohol, cocaine, marijuana and pills.
