Julianne Moore and Gere pair up for romantic thriller

Julianne Moore and Richard Gere are to co-star in a new film from the director of Smilla's Feeling For Snow.

The pair will appear in Without Apparent Motive, the first Hollywood production from Danish director Bille August.

The film is described as being in the same vein as LA Confidential.

Gere will play a police detective, who investigates the murders of three businessmen.

He falls in love with Moore, the widow of one of them, but then realises she might be behind the crimes.

Filming is due to begin next month reports
