Theron to make small screen debut

Making her first small screen movie, actress Charlize Theron is to star opposite Geoffrey Rush in HBO Films’ The Life and Death of Peter Sellers.

Directed by Stephen Hopkins, production starts next spring or summer in London.

The TV film is based on a book, of the same name, by Roger Lewis and sees Rush star in the title role as Sellers – the British comedy actor.

The project takes a look at the personal triumphs and failures of Sellers with Theron playing one of his wives, Swedish actress Britt Ekland.

The couple were married from 1964 to 68, had one child and starred in two films together, 1966’s After the Fox and 1967’s The Bobo.

Theron is currently in production on Paramount Pictures’ remake of the classic movie The Italian Job and most recently starred on screen in Waking Up in Reno and Trapped.
