Santa's return is truly forgettable

Oh dear - a Yuletide story that makes you long for Easter!

Tim Allen is one of those Hollywood B-List actors who can make the occasional gem - remember the brilliant Star Trek spoof, Galaxy Quest - and a lot of forgettable rubbish.

This may not be complete rubbish, but it is forgettable. Here, in another of those seasonal exploitation releases intended to promote lots of toys but not much goodwill, Allen plays Santa who is seeking a wife in order to save his job. His child's teacher, a cynical Yuletide hater, might be the one.

There's no real humour in this weak effort and there is no feel of the festive season. The film also lacks a sense of who it is directed at - the kiddies, it goes without saying.
