Geri and the popstars visit sick children
Geri Halliwell and the Popstars girls spread a little Christmas cheer today when they paid a visit to a children’s cancer ward.
They took a break from rehearsals for this Saturday’s final show to meet patients at London’s Middlesex Hospital.
Geri brought pet dog Harry along for the occasion and spent two hours chatting to the youngsters, many of whom have been undergoing months of gruelling cancer treatment.
Some of them seemed more excited about meeting Harry than they did about being introduced to the former Spice Girl.
As Popstars judge Geri chatted to five-year-old Samuel Sherkartchi, from Edgware in north London, he interrupted her to ask: “Where did you get your puppy from?”
She also met wheelchair-bound Robbie Kemp, 12, from Islington, north London, telling him: “I know a Robbie and he’s got big blue eyes just like you.”
The visit was organised by Cancer Research UK to launch its Children’s Cancer Awareness Month, which runs through December.
