Fans queue for Robbie Williams tickets

Tickets for next summer's Robbie Williams gig in the Phoenix Park went on sale at 8am today.

Thousands of fans queued overnight to secure a ticket for what is expected to be the biggest concert ever staged in Ireland.

The 28-year-old former Take That star will end his European Escapology tour in Ireland in front of more than 120,000 fans.

MCD concert promoter, Justin Green, said he expects ticket sales today to break all box office records.

"This will be the biggest ever concert held in Ireland - it will beat Slane by 40,000 people. I think it's an incredible achievement for an artist like Robbie Williams to put himself forward to be the trend-setter," he said.
