Here’s something EastEnders fans thought they’d never see – Dirty Den back behind the bar of the Queen Vic.

Den, played by actor Leslie Grantham, comes back from the dead to make a surprise appearance in Albert Square.

He is rejoining the cast for one night only in aid of the BBC’s Children In Need, as a zombie in a spoof of Michael Jackson’s Thriller video.

One of the Square’s best-loved characters, Den was killed off 13 years ago in a canal-side shooting.

Barry Evans, alias actor Shaun Williamson, dons a red leather outfit to play Jacko in the comic video.

Fellow cast members taking part include Laura Beale, played by Hannah Waterman, and Nicholas Bailey, better known as Dr Trueman.

Other Children In Need highlights include news presenters Jeremy Vine, Sophie Raworth and Jeremy Bowen hamming it up in The Rocky Horror Show, plus What Not To Wear’s Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine performing Madonna’s Vogue with a troupe of celebrity backing singers.

Will Young kicks off proceedings and there are also appearances by Holly Valance, Elton John and Gareth Gates.
