Richard Gere gets married

Actor Richard Gere has married his long-term girlfriend in a secret ceremony.

The Pretty Woman star tied the knot with former Bond girl Carey Lowell, 41, last week, the New York Post says.

The couple wed in a private outdoor service at their home in Pound Ridge, in upstate New York.

Their two-year-old son Homer, and Carey’s daughter from a previous marriage to actor Griffin Dunne were the only guests in attendance at the nuptials.

Gere, 53, split with supermodel Cindy Crawford in 1994. He recently starred in the films Unfaithful and The Mothman Prophecies and next appears in musical Chicago opposite Catherine Zeta Jones and Renee Zellwegger.

Lowell starred alongside Timothy Dalton in 1989 Bond film Licence to Kill. She has also had roles in Sleepless in Seattle and Leaving Las Vegas.
