Italian director could make Oscar history
Roberto Benigni's new film could make Oscar history at the awards ceremony in March.
Pinocchio has been chosen as Italy's submission in the Best Foreign Film category and could also feature as a Best Film nominee.
This is because its distributors Miramax have decided to re-record it in English.
It could be the first time two versions of the same film have been nominated for both awards.
Benigni is best known for getting over-excited at the 1998 Oscars when his film Life Is Beautiful won three awards.
