Robbie Coltrane is envious of Harry Potter co-stars
Robbie Coltrane says he was envious of his young Harry Potter co-stars while they made the new film.
Coltrane reprises his role as Hagrid in Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets.
He says he would have loved to have done some of the stunts performed by Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint in the film.
"I always wanted to be able to fly and it's something I still wish I could do. In the scene with the car chasing the train, I had dreams like that. Being invisible would be cool as well," he said.
Coltrane admits his new found fame among the younger generation means he has to watch himself when he's out in public: "There's a whole new generation of people who see me only as Hagrid and so I have to behave myself when I'm out and about."
But he says he was delighted to return to the role of Hogwarts' gamekeeper: "The way the books are written, more and more is revealed about Hagrid as they progress because he has a very dark side being half Giant.
"It was interesting going into his past, the fact that we think he's the bad guy for a while, so that meant I could play him a bit darker."
Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets is officially released in the UK on Friday.
