Michael Caine's 1966 film Gambit is being remade in America.

The new version has been written by Joel and Ethan Coen and will be directed by Burr Steers.

It is the latest in a number of Caine films to be remade in the US. Others include Get Carter, which starred Sylvester Stallone, and The Italian Job which will star Mark Wahlberg and Edward Norton.

The original Gambit starred Caine and Shirley MacLaine.

Filming is expected to begin in America next year reports www.hollywoodreporter.com.
