Tarrant and Robinson give right answer for love

Quiz masters Chris Tarrant and Anne Robinson are apparently helping to spice up the nation's love lives.

More than half of men say they find their partner more attractive when they show their mental prowess by getting a question right in a TV game show.

A total of 55% of men in a study by game show channel Challenge? said they found their partner looked better after a correct answer.

However knowledge did not prove to be an aphrodisiac for all. A tenth of women questioned said they thought it made their men seem more boring.

Women viewers are twice as likely to get worked up by watching a game show than men, the poll of a thousand people found. A whopping 93% of women say they shout at their TVs while watching them - double the figure for men.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - fronted by Tarrant - was the nation's favourite quiz , while The Weakest Link, presented by acid-tongues Robinson, was second.

Long-running show Family Fortunes landed in third place.

The Weakest Link was also named as the most-hated game show.

Challenge? commissioned the survey to promote its range of interactive game shows where viewers play along, including TV Scrabble and Soap Addicts.

More than 70% of those polled said they like to play along with shows at home.
