Salman Rushdie honoured

Novelist Salman Rushdie was named the writer’s writer as he was honoured by fellow auths for his contribution to international literature.

He was chosen by writers such as Norman Mailer, Germaine Greer and Martin Amis, who presented him with his award.

Rushdie took the London International Writers Award 2002 which is voted for by a host of authors taking part in the annual Orange Word literary festival in London.
