Burrell to host 'What The Butler Saw' quiz show

Paul Burrell has been lined up to host a TV quiz show called What The Butler Saw.

His personal manager Dave Warwick says the show is set to be a major smash in America.

It was devised by quiz show creator Stephen Leahy who is flying out to Los Angeles next week to begin talks with studio bosses.

He says the format will fit Mr Burrell "like a glove".

Mr Warwick said: "Stephen Leahy is a game show supremo. This programme will be bigger than Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and The Weakest Link put together.

"Stephen has devised the format of What The Butler Saw and Paul Burrell will present it. Obviously it will be a major smash in America."

Mr Leahy, who started his career with Granada Television and was one of the co-creators of The Krypton Factor, says the deal marks a new departure for the former royal butler.

He commented: "The show came first. We'd been trying to work out a social history quiz that ragged people's brains about the past.

"We were looking at newspaper stories, social history, scandal and the royals - something different to the usual quiz questions.

"That seemed the perfect vehicle for Paul and his acquittal made him the perfect host. He has done TV before and he's at ease with members of the public. It just fitted like a glove."
