Rowling ball raises thousands for charity

A lavish ball organised by Harry Potter author JK Rowling raised more than €431,000 for charity, it was disclosed today.

Organisers said guests had donated almost three times as much as expected during the Halloween banquet at Stirling castle in Scotland.
