Linda McCartney's family pay tribute to 'second home'

The family of Linda McCartney has paid tribute to the Scottish community that was their second home.

Her daughters spoke out as a memorial garden and bronze statue of the animal rights campaigner and wife of ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney was unveiled in Cambeltown, Kintyre.

In a statement, Stella and Mary McCartney said the remote area had been an inspiration to their mother, who died four years ago after suffering from breast cancer.

They said: “Scotland was one of Mum’s favourite places and it is wonderful to have a permanent statue to remind us of the great times we spent with her there.”
