Cold Feet star Thomson splits from pregnant fiancee

John Thomson has split from his pregnant fiancee just days before she's due to give birth.

In a statement from his solicitors, the star of ITV1s Cold Feet, says the break-up with 29-year-old Sam Sharp is down to irreconcilable differences.

He says the couple decided it was in the best interests of their first baby, which is expected next week, reports The Daily Mirror.

Thomson, 33, and Sam have been together two years and were due to marry next May.

A statement from his solicitors added: "It is with great sadness this break-up has taken place before the imminent arrival of their baby.

"Mr Thomson believes it is best for all concerned it happens before the birth so the child can arrive into a calm environment with no animosity between its parents.

"He wishes to stress he will support and be fully involved with their baby and its upbringing."
