Kate Moss and Vivien Leigh pictures form new Vogue exhibition

New photographs of Kate Moss and Vivien Leigh are to be unveiled as part of the Unseen Vogue exhibition.

It launches at London's Design Museum on November 1 and will run until February 2003.

The exhibition showcases a number of "lost" works which were commissioned by Vogue magazine but never published.

It includes Nick Knight's photo of Kate Moss from 1996 and a Vivien Leigh image, by Cecil Beaton, from 1936.

Also on display is an envelope containing transparencies of Yves Saint Laurent's second haute couture collection as chief designer at Christian Dior from 1958.

Photographers featured include Cecil Beaton, Horst and Lee Miller, Helmut Newton and Guy Bourdin, to David Bailey and Bruce Weber,Corinne Day, Juergen Teller and Mario Testino.

The images were deemed too technically or stylistically inventive to appear in Vogue at the time, or simply abandoned because the photographer - or their subject - fell out with past Vogue editors.

They are taken from Unseen Vogue: The Secret History of Fashion Photography, by Robin Derrick and Robin Muir.
