Schumacher making Guerin film in Dublin

Another film on the life and tragic death of Dublin investigative journalist, Veronica Guerin, has been filming in Ballymun.

Starring a mainly Irish cast - including Brenda Fricker and Colin Farrell, with Cate Blanchett in the title role - and made on the modest budget of $17m, the film, directed by Joel Schumacher, a long-time fan of Farrell, intrigued Schumacher from the outset.

"The story really moved me. She was a bold, fearless person and her death changed the laws in Ireland."

The film is due for our screens late next year.
