Ashcroft considers hip hop influence for new album

Richard Ashcroft has revealed he has already started work on another new album.

He is considering giving it a hip hop influence, similar to his current single Check The Meaning.

His new album Human Conditions is release on October 21.

It also features a rare guest appearance from Brian Wilson, who supplies harmonies on for Nature Is The Law.

He has told XFM.co.uk: "Before we go out on the road for this record, I'll have ten backing tracks of the band to rehearse during soundcheck so we can go into the studio early next year and start on the next album."

He went on: "Check The Meaning was a complete accident. The guitar chorus hook just came out and I thought 'That's it, I'm gonna base a whole song around that.' To me, that's hip hop.... drum-and beats-wise it could be the best way forward for the next album."
