Naomi told to leave Fame Academy
Naomi Roper, from the Scottish Borders, has been told that she must leave, despite attempts to treat her throat which has been troubling the 19-year-old since before she entered the academy.
The student was seen by specialist Dr Ruth Epstein who said her voice needed several days rest to fully recover.
As a result, academy headteacher Richard Park, vocal coach Carrie Grant and the other tutors decided Naomi had to leave the show, which boasts a prize of a recording contract and celebrity lifestyle for the overall winner.
Naomi is likely to be replaced by a stand-by student later this week, but this is as yet unconfirmed.
Viewers will be able to watch the latest developments in Tuesday night’s programme at 7pm on BBC1.
There are also updates on CBBC at 8am on Monday morning, as well as live streaming on BBCi, the BBC’s digital service.
