Giuliani to be subject of new film

Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani is to be the subject of a feature-length television movie, reports Screen Daily.

Entitled Rudy’s Wars, the film stars James Woods and will tell the story of the rise, fall and resurrection of Giuliani.

The ex-major was hailed as a hero in the US for his leadership following the September 11 terror attacks on New York City.

In some scenes Montreal in Canada will double for New York, while parts of the film will be shot in the city itself.

The film is being directed by Robert Dornhelm and also stars Penelope Ann Miller. Now in pre-production, it starts shooting later this autumn.

Los Angeles-based Carlton America is producing the project for American cable channel USA Networks.
