Cork Film Fest to feature UIP Awards
This year's Cork Film Festival will feature the UIP Awards, with some 13 prizes being awarded prior to the October 12 screening of Damien O'Donnell's new film, Heartlands, in the city's Opera House.
The awards, the largest of their kind in Ireland, have a total worth €29,000 in three categories: Best Director (Feature), Best Director (Live Action Short) and Best Director (Animation).
The Festival, running between October 6-13, will see the screening of the controversial award-winner The Magdalene Sisters, Spider (starring Gabriel Byrne), Morvern Caller, All or Nothing, The Revengers Tragedy, Tadpole, The Good Girl, Donnie Darko, He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not and The Man Without a Past.
