Vegas sells wedding pics for a quid

Comedian Johnny Vegas sold his wedding photos to comic Viz for just £1, it emerged today.

Vegas snubbed big-money offers from glossy celebrity magazines and instead gave Viz the exclusive rights.

The 31-year-old funnyman asked for a fiver but bosses at the Geordie comic knocked him down to £1.

The snaps show Vegas and girlfriend Kitty Donnelly celebrating their wedding in San Francisco.

Vegas wore a dark suit and trilby while Donnelly, 26, was dressed in a white trouser suit and matching hat with a cherry motif.

A spokesman for the star said: “Johnny knew that magazines were interested in getting the wedding pictures so he just thought it would be funny to give them to Viz.”

In one of the pictures taken just after the ceremony at San Francisco’s City Hall, the couple play on swings in a children’s playground, while others show them kissing and cuddling up on a park bench.

The pair wed in July, just 20 weeks after Vegas met interior designer Donnelly in a London pub.

Vegas, who is from St Helen’s, Merseyside, said it was love at first sight.

“The moment I started talking to her, I fell in love. She might be beautiful on the outside, but she’s even more beautiful on the inside.

“It was all very whirlwind and simple. You meet a special person and don’t care about the practicalities.”
