Richard Gere to play homicide detective

Richard Gere has signed up to star in new drama Without Apparent Motive.

He will play a Los Angeles County sheriff's detective seeking the murderer of three high-profile businessmen.

Filming of the movie will begin this autumn, after the actor finishes scenes in his new musical Chicago.

Directed by Bille August, Without Apparent Motive is scheduled to go into production in Los Angeles, according to www.variety.com.
