Farrell hoping to hit the big time
Colin Farrell is hoping the coming release of his latest film with director Joel Schumacher will underline his elevation to the Hollywood A-List.
In Phone Booth he plays a slick New York publicist who makes the mistake of answering a ringing public telephone, only to be informed by a sniper (Kiefer Sutherland) that if he moves he will be shot.
It's a high-concept plot and has been dubbed the next Speed, though Farrell and Schumacher realise that a film limited to action around a telephone booth comes with off-beat dangers.
