Sarah Alexander hopes to work in Hollywood

Sarah Alexander says her lifetime's ambition would be to work with Hollywood star Benicio Del Toro.

She wants to broaden her repertoire beyond television and theatre.

She's best known for appearing in the hit comedies Smack the Pony and Coupling.

She told the Sunday Express magazine: "I'd love to check out Hollywood one day. I've only been there once and it's an extraordinary place.

"I find it fascinating - like watching a car crash - and obviously working with Benicio Del Toro is high on my list. If it comes my way, I'd love to go there."

Del Toro won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role in Traffic.

Alexander has also appeared on stage in The Vagina Monologues with Honor Blackman and describes the theatre work as the moment she felt she had "made it".

She said the veteran actress and former Bond girl was a "really nice lady" who looked "incredible".

She has just finished recording a new series of Coupling, which is screened later this month, but said the experience or working non-stop for two-and-half months took a lot out of her.

One day she woke with a "raging fever" but had no choice but to travel to the studios to carry on filming.
