Survivor Christine reveals health worry
Jungle survivor Christine Hamilton disclosed she was awaiting checks for a health scare as she arrived back in the UK today.
The Iâm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! contestant said she still had not got been given the âall clearâ.
The renowned battleaxe who showed her softer side during the jungle stint told viewers of ITV1âs This Morning: âI think Iâll be OK.â
The wife of former Tory MP Neil was talking to viewers, with one caller explaining how she had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Christine told her: âI have sympathy with you because Iâve had scares in that direction, shall we say, and havenât got the all clear yet.â
Pressed further by interviewer Fern Britton, she said: âIâve got a hospital appointment waiting for me shortly, but I think Iâll be OK.â
âThatâs all I want to say at this point,â she added.
Earlier in the day as she landed at Heathrow, Christine declared she could have âmurderedâ her fellow contestants.
âI have heard myself described as a national treasure, which was very nice,â she said as she arrived back from Australia with Neil and comic Rhona Cameron.
âNone of my friends and family would have been surprised to see me acting like that, but Iâm sure the public, who only know me from what they read in the press, probably were.â
She added: âThey might also have been surprised to have seen me cleaning out the loo in the camp with such gusto.
âWell, I donât know who the great British public think cleans out the loo in the Hamilton household, but I can tell you, itâs not Neil.â
She was still sporting the black-eye she sustained during one of the daily âbushtucker trialsâ on the ITV1 show.
âIt really was the chance of a lifetime. I absolutely loved it,â she said.
âObviously there was the odd moment when I could happily have murdered my campmates. One time, I think we had been there about three days, when all hell broke loose between the camp and I thought âHow will I survive this?â
âBut the days went by very quickly after that. I canât believe itâs over. It was an incredible privilege to take part.â
Mr Hamilton joked that he had not really missed his wife while she was on the show.
âI didnât feel I had lost her, really, because I was able to watch her on TV. The only difference was that this time she couldnât answer back.â
