New Superman movie 'to focus on his origins'

The new Superman movie will focus on the character's origins according to the director.

McG, who is currently directing Charlie's Angels 2, says Superman will be his next project.

He says he has seen a draft of the script for Superman and is "very excited" about it.

"It's a genesis story and it tells the story of Superman from day one - Krypton, Smallville - all the way through, the whole nine yards," McG tells www.cinescape.com.

"Right now, my energy is going into the one Superman genesis story, because no-one has seen it since the Richard Donner pictures in the 1970s".

"I want to have the opportunity to introduce a Superman that takes advantage of the visual effects that we have at our disposal at this time."
