Cold Feet fans 'in suspense over ending'

Fans of the hit romantic comedy Cold Feet will be kept in suspense until the last minute over the ending of the fifth and final series, TV bosses said today.

Rumours began that the series ends with the funeral of Rachel Bradley, played by Helen Baxendale, after photos were published of the cast at a funeral.

But TV company Granada, the makers of the comedy, insist they are filming four endings to the series, which will be screened in 2003.

Zoe McIntyre, a spokesperson from Granada, said: “We have already finished filming two different endings and we will be filming another two in the next few weeks.

“The final series will finish with the death of one of the characters but the ending will not be chosen until the last minute and will be kept a top secret.”

Cold Feet, which attracts a regular nine million audience for each episode, will undoubtedly be a hit with the fans despite the inevitably unhappy ending.
