Atomic Kitten star questioned over party incident

Atomic Kitten's Jenny Frost was allegedly involved in a fracas at the launch of a top store.

The singer has given a statement to police after the alleged incident at the opening party of the £20m (€31.6m) branch of Harvey Nichols in Edinburgh.

Frost and fashion photographer Hazel Mall, 27, have been questioned about a "disturbance" at the bash held on Wednesday night.

A spokesman for the 24-year-old singer said: "Jenny has given a statement to the police and that is the only comment we are making."

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said witness statements were taken at the scene and investigations were continuing.

He said: "At about midnight on Thursday police were called to a disturbance at the Harvey Nichols store.

"Allegations were made of an assault which are currently being investigated and which, depending on the result, may be reported to the procurator fiscal."

Stars including Ewan McGregor and Robert Carlyle were among 700 guests who partied until midnight at the store's top-floor bar and brassiere.

They drank and munched their way through 700 bottles of champagne, 500 bottles of white wine, 10 crates of vodka and 15,000 canapés.

Other celebrities included DJ and actor Goldie, Kylie Minogue's partner James Gooding and Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher's ex-wife Meg Mathews.
