Sugababes proud of their own song going to number one

The Sugababes have criticised bands who don't write their own material.

The Sugababes have criticised bands who don't write their own material.

The trio say they deserve their success because they work so hard.

Heidi, Keisha and Mutya are celebrating after knocking Darius off the top of the chart with Round Round.

Heidi told The Sun: "I'm amazed we're at number one. It's great because we've been working so hard.

"At least we wrote the song ourselves, unlike lots of manufactured bands."

The group made number one with their last single, a re-working of a bootleg track mixing Tubeway Army's "Are Friends Electric?" with Adina Howard's "Freak Like Me" lyrics.
