Winona Ryder case postponed again
A Beverly Hills judge today set a date for later this month when lawyers will meet to discuss the shoplifting case of Winona Ryder.
The 30-year-old actress _ who is charged with taking clothing and other items from a Saks Fifth Avenue store _ did not attend today’s hearing.
Judge Elden Fox said a trial date would be set within 30 days of the pretrial motions, which he ordered to be heard on August 26.
Ryder, the star of Girl, Interrupted and the recent Adam Sandler comedy Mr Deeds, was arrested in December. She allegedly was carrying painkillers without a prescription and stole designer merchandise.
She was charged with second-degree burglary, grand theft, vandalism and possession of a controlled substance, and could face more than three years in prison if convicted.
