Richard Gere to appear on Before They Were Famous

Richard Gere is to feature in BBC1's Before They Were Famous VII, in a clip of his first major role.

The programme screens exclusive footage of the actor as a 23-year-old playing Danny Zuko in the rock musical Grease.

The 1973 London debut of the hit show was Gere's first foray into showbusiness.

Producers are asking viewers to top this performance by sending in clips of famous celebrities before they hit the big time.
