Guy Ritchie to direct another gangster flick

Guy Ritchie has reportedly signed up to direct another gangster movie.

He will join producer Matthew Vaughn to make the film version of Layer Cake, a novel by JJ Connolly.

The story follows a young man's attempt to extricate himself from London's gangster underworld.

Ritchie's production company Ska Films told www.empireonline.co.uk that work on the production will begin after Christmas.

Filming is expected to take place in and around London.
