Elle MacPherson expecting second child

Elle MacPherson has confirmed she is expecting her second child.

The 39-year-old, who is based in the Holland Park area of north London, is three months pregnant.

She and her Swiss financier partner Arpad Busson - to whom she became engaged earlier this year - had their first child Flynn four years ago in New York.

MacPherson has also built up an acting career, starring alongside Hugh Grant in the sexual awakening drama Sirens in 1994. Two years ago she had a run of appearances in hit TV comedy Friends playing Joey's room-mate Janine.

A statement issued on the couple's behalf today said: "Elle MacPherson and Arpad Busson are thrilled to confirm that they are expecting their second child early February '03."

It added that the new addition to the family would be "a welcome brother or sister for their son Flynn."

MacPherson has spoken before about wanting three or four children. The model, who earned her nickname The Body for her enviable figure, has said that motherhood is her "greatest achievement."
