Gallagher returns after crash
Noel Gallagher has made a triumphant return to stage, following his car smash - and was rewarded with a bunch of flowers from his brother.
The Oasis star showed no signs of the shock, cuts or bruising he suffered in last Tuesday’s accident as he played to a packed house at New York’s Roseland Ballroom.
But the 35-year-old complained that he had only received one Get Well card since the crash which forced the band to cancel three dates on their US tour.
"That’s what happens when you stop selling albums," he told the crowd. "Not even my record company sent me a bunch of flowers."
His disappointment was temporarily lifted when Liam Gallagher emerged on stage and presented him with a bouquet.
Hopes that the crash scare had led to a new bond between the constantly feuding brothers were soon dashed, however, when Noel accused his younger sibling of urinating on the flowers.
Noel was given a hero’s welcome as he led the band out at the start of their three dates in New York.
He had been in the front passenger seat of a taxi as it collided head on with another vehicle in Indianapolis.
Bandmate Andy Bell, the group’s bass player, and Jay Darlington - playing keyboards on the tour - were also hurt.
