Kylie and Simon Cowell to present MTV awards

Simon Cowell and Kylie Minogue will present awards at the MTV Video Music Awards.

And Ashanti and Nas will join the line-up of live performers at the ceremony on August 29.

Cowell and Kylie will join a line up of celebrity presenters which includes Britney Spears, Elton John, Nelly and Enrique Iglesias.

The event at New York's Radio City Hall can be seen on MTV UK and Ireland live at 1am on the evening of August 29, and will be repeated on Friday August 30 at 10pm.

Other live performers include Eminem, Pink, Shakira, P Diddy and Bruce Springsteen.

Other celebrity presenters include MTV Jackass's Johnny Knoxville (who can currently be seen in Men In Black 2), Cowell's fellow American Idol judge Paula Abdul, Avril Lavigne, B2K and Bow Wow.
