Move Over Harry

Move over Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, you're about to be joined on the big screen by The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.

The famous children's book by Belfast-born C.S. Lewis is to be made into a fearure film by a New York company, with smash-hit Shrek director Andrew Adamson penned in to take charge.

The NY outfit has bought the rights to the Chronicles of Narnia, written in the l950s by Lewis.

"It has," says Lewis's stepson, Douglas Gresham, who lives in the Republic, "been our dream for many years not simply to make a live-action version of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, but to do so while remaining faithful to the novel."

Lewis was a long-time friend of J.R.R. Tolkien, author of The Lord of the Rings, and is now set to have his works follow in the Box Office footsteps of the Ring cycle.
