Three of Oasis hurt in US car crash
Three members of the band Oasis have been hurt in a car crash in Indianapolis, during their US tour.
A taxi they were travelling in was involved in a head on collision with another vehicle.
The three, Noel Gallagher, bassist Andy Bell and keyboard-player Jay Darlington were taken to hospital by ambulance, where they were treated for shock and cuts and bruises.
Lead singer Noel, who was travelling in the front of the car, suffered heavy facial bruising and seat belt cuts.
Darlington - formerly of chart act Kula Shaker - had been a temporary member of the band as they toured.
Oasis have had a troubled history in the US. Although they have persistently tried to make it, music fans have never warmed to them in the same way they did at home.
However they made strides last year when they toured jointly with the Black Crowes.
Noel walked out of the band’s 1996 US tour after a bust-up with his brother Liam, flying back to the UK. The tour had to be scrapped.
Noel once said: ‘‘I don’t give a f*** about America as long as they buy the f***ing records.’’
