Sky News presenter dies of breast cancer

Sky News presenter Fiona McDiarmid has died of breast cancer aged 40.

She was at home in London with her parents and husband Jim, when she passed away.

The broadcaster, who has worked at Sky for over five years, had been receiving treatment for the disease for the past year.

Head of Sky News Nick Pollard told the Daily Mirror: "This is a great tragedy. Fiona was a lovely woman who was highly thought of professionally and was regarded with great affection by friends and colleagues. She will be sadly missed here."
