Orange County star living in his father's shadow
Tom Hanks' son Colin says he is still living in the shadow of his Oscar-winning father.
The actor is a star in his own right after playing the lead in the film Orange County.
"There are people who only see me as The Son," the 24-year-old told German newspaper BZ.
"They never ask what I can do but just tell me how fantastic they think it is that I look and sound exactly like my dad."
He says although his name does help him to get seen by people within the movie business, it does not mean he automatically gets the parts.
Colin also said his famous dad was totally supportive when he told him he wanted to follow him into acting.
"He told me he believes I've got what it takes to be successful," Colin said.
And on the state of his love life Colin said: "If a girl wants to go out with me because I'm Tom Hanks' son, then I'm not interested.
"Perhaps that's why I'm still single."
