Rumpole star Leo McKern dies

Actor Leo McKern, best known for his role in TV series Rumpole of the Bailey, died today. He was 82.

Australian-born McKern had been ill for some time and died at a nursing home near his home in Bath, his agent said.

He became a household name playing the pugnacious barrister Rumpole and also enjoyed a distinguished stage career.
