Four bands have had their performances at the Witnness Festival cancelled because of bad weather.

Four bands have had their performances at the Witnness Festival cancelled because of bad weather.

The opening of the Upstage at the event at Fairyhouse was delayed as a precaution.

Electric Soft Parade, The Parkinsons, Desert Hearts and Berkeley all had their gigs pulled.

A Witnness spokeswoman said there had been inch of rain over the past 48 hours.

"As a precautionary measure, we kept the Upstage closed until 4pm," she said.

The spokeswoman said the weather was now dry and no further problems were anticipated.

The Witnness line-up features Oasis, The Prodigy, Foo Fighters, Air, Chemical Brothers and Primal Scream.
