Fairyhouse ready to rock for Witnness

40,000 music fans are expected to descend on Fairyhouse in Co Meath this weekend for the Witnness festival. Organisers are warning revellers against crowd surfing or moshing, as they will be thrown out.

Garda Superintendent, Pat Lambe, is also keeping a close watch on drugs entering the venue, "We're not alarmed about the drug scene. We have a presence from the Garda National Drugs Unit and their units are augmented by units from this region."

"I'm sure they will deal adequately with the drug scene. In previous years, we had seizures of drugs, but not to any great extent."
